Massage therapy is not a
luxury, it is an essential in today's fast paced
environment. Our therapists are licensed professionals
who will provide you with compassionate, competent care. Whether you are seeking an hour
of the ultimate in relaxation massage, you need relief from a chronic pain
condition or desire a sports massage, we will offer you the best in
treatment and
renewal in Dayton.
To receive the most
benefit from a massage, whether is it for intensive
treatment of a repetitive stress injury or for
relaxation, it is important that you feel relaxed. We
always found it difficult to relax in a clinical
setting, so we have worked hard to provide an extremely
peaceful atmosphere for our clients. Even while we are
working deeply on a painful area, our clients say they
are able to relax because of the restful atmosphere.
Why
is a license so
important?
In Ohio, only licensed massage therapists are
regulated. To
receive a license in Ohio, a therapist must undergo
several hundred hours of training, pass a competency
exam, and undergo a rigorous background check.
However, in Ohio,
anyone without a license can give a relaxation
massage, whether they have any massage knowledge or not.
They may not claim that any of their services provide
any sort of therapeutic benefit over and above being
relaxing.
Without a license, you
have no idea what training your masseuse has had, or if
they are a convicted criminal. Would you want to undress
and receive a massage from someone who may have no
qualifications and no background check?

How can I tell if a
masseuse is licensed?
You can
ask for their license # or name and check it
online at the Ohio Medical Board's website. Many
people claim to be licensed that aren't, so
don't take their word for it - they are taking
the gamble that you won't check. If they aren't
in the Medical board database, they aren't
licensed. Period.
Cheap prices
often indicate non-licensure. Occasional
discounts or seasonal coupons are commonplace,
but a standing price that is significantly below
average should be cause for concern. The average
price for a massage in the Dayton area is in the
neighborhood of $65/hour.
Surprisingly,
many spas have some non-licensed masseuses on
their staff, but they won't mention it when you
make an appointment unless you ask. Very few people would suspect this!
Why should you pay top dollar for a massage from
someone who may not be qualified? It pays to
check. Be safe -
